Commenting on other's blogs and such is the perfect way to interact with others via the Internet. It is a great way to respond to peoples ideas and give your own opinion. One classmate brought up a good point in his blog, saying that you should think of facebook in this situation. If no one ever commented on anyone else's statuses, pictures, etc. wouldn't facebook be boring and virtually pointless?
By reading other people's blogs I began to pick up on their personalities and interests, especially reading people's "Thing 2" blogs entries. Reading why they chose their appearance of their avatars tells a lot about them without having to say much.
Also, reading other blogs is very beneficial when it comes to finding the right things to say, and it is comforting to know that I am not the only one who is newly exposed to the blogosphere.
I first read Derek Cooke's "Thing 4" entry, because it looked attention grabbing. It was rather lengthy, but he had some very good points. Next, I read Kristy Finger's "Thing 2" entry because her avatar looked so happy and vibrant, therefore I was curious as to why she chose it. After that, I looked at Mary Stinson's blog, because we talk alot and have the same major, so I was curious to see what she had to say. Unfortunately, she does not have much to read yet :/. Later, I went to Amanda Blankeship's blog because it was very bright colored and attention grabbing. I read her "Thing 2" entry and learned that her blog's design matches her personality very well. Finally, the last classmate's blog that I viewed belonged Samantha Fargus. I liked her reasons why blogs can be used in our teaching career.
For the two extra blogs in the blogosphere:
First I started following "Life can be Seriously Funny..." http://kelvynstevens.blogspot.com/
It is just a fun blog that brings some good humor into my day. I commented on a picture they posted on August 19 because it reminded me of how much I point out typos all the time.
The Second blog is a teacher's venting blog, called It's Not all Flowers and Sausages ( http://itsnotallflowersandsausages.blogspot.com/ ). I commented on their post, "Just another Manic Wednesday" Because it not only reminded me of a song I like, but it also reminded me of the rare days that I get all my homework done and can just sit down and relax (these days are VERY rare, might I add). This blog is fun, entertaining, and extremely relate-able.
I chose to comment on your blog, because you were so ahead of schedule on the 23 things! I like to read posts from student who obviously excel in school! I enjoyed this post and liked the blogs you chose in the blogosphere! I'm going to go check them out!
